Free fantasy tower defense experience
Game of Warriors is a free-to-play strategy experience from Play365. This fantasy-themed tower defense game reimagines the classic genre, letting you build towers and assign soldiers to defend your base from hordes of attacking monsters. Like most strategy games, it follows a complex relationship between units, forcing players to identify the build that suits their needs and gameplay strategy.
With a fun visual style like Clash of Clans and the strategic aspects of Bloons TD 6, Game of Warriors is intuitive, fun, and addictive. Despite minor glitches and its tendency toward pay-to-win setups, it’s still something enjoyable.
Mankind’s last bastion
In Game of Warriors, you play as the strategist for a human stronghold. In a fantasy medieval world, mankind is pushed to the brink of extinction. From a forgotten corner of the continent, you protect what you have left and start regaining territories to ensure your survival. As a tower defense game, it has the same basic elements, making it intuitive to fans of the genre.
It features over 30 soldier types, each of them having unique and branching upgrades for virtually limitless defensive combinations. On top of your standard units, there are four starting Heroes you can unlock. They can change the tide of battle with unique skills that can clear waves or boost your defenses. Like heroes, there’s also a limited variety of enemies, with only four races of opponents to conquer.
With that said, the game still offers a lot of replayability because of its open-ended strategy approach, any of which could work against its over 1,500 waves. Unfortunately, there are attacking and deployment glitches that adversely affect the game. Even worse, its upgrades take too long to complete, making it tempting to spend real-world money on microtransactions and gain an advantage.
A fun TD stacked against free players
Game of Warriors also captures the same magic as other hit mobile games. It has good visual choices, is easy to play, and promises fun hours of gameplay. Despite its limited monster races and selection of Heroes, it allows many defensive strategies to come into play. The main problem is that its free-to-play mechanics are difficult and take too long.
