A sci-fi thriller adventure game for PC
Fort Solis is a premium adventure game for PC developed by Fallen Leaf and Black Drakkar Games. It is a third-person sci-fi horror game set on the red planet of Mars. Players will take on the role of a space engineer who responds to a seemingly routine alarm.
Similar to ROUTINE, Fort Solis features open-world exploration mixed with a dark and atmospheric presentation to offer a thrilling and horror-fueled experience like Dead Space 2. Player actions and decisions will play roles in determining the direction of the narrative and how the story will unfold.
Space dread
The Dead Space series has produced one of the greatest games of all time and helped define and popularize the sci-fi horror genre to what it is today. They offered a spooky and tense experience that kept players engaged and at the edge of their seats while offering compelling gameplay that mixed exploration, action, and storytelling well. Fort Solis is one of the recent titles that were inspired by it.
In this game, you play as Jack Leary, a space engineer responding to an alarm from the titular mining base. You arrive at a desolate and abandoned location with no one in sight. You now have to investigate what triggered the alert and what happened to the facility’s crew members. While exploring both the surface and underground, you’ll slowly realize something sinister was at play behind the events.
The game’s story will be told in sequence and will slowly unfold based on your actions and decisions throughout. What’s more, everything will be one continuous experience, with no camera cuts or loading screens to break the immersion. As for when it will come out, there is no specific release date yet. You can check its official Steam page for more news and updates in the future.
Alive and kicking
It has been more than a decade since the last Dead Space game was released, but the essence of what made the series so great lives on in other games, and Fort Solis is one great example. It’s tense, scary, and a great representation of the sci-fi horror genre. Hopefully, it releases soon, but it is definitely worth checking out when it does.
