Create your own text fonts
If you consider yourself a font junkie, it’s about time you create your own personal style in fonts.
With Fony you can design a complete text font from scratch, including all the necessary characters and selection also the appropriate font family and correspondent charset. The process can be a bit tiring as you need to create each character one by one, but it’s also very rewarding: in the end, you’ll be able to use your very own digital handwriting. Other than that, the program looks quite basic both in appearance and functionality, with a scarce settings menu and a simple font previewing tool.
Besides creating a font from scratch, you can also import any font that is currently installed on your system – including True Type ones. On the downside, it’s a pity you can’t export your newly created font to that same format, True Tyoe; you can only save them as bitmap or BDF fonts.
Fony is a simple, easy-to-use font creation tool that unfortunately doesn’t enable you to save fonts as True Type.
Fony is a freeware editor for bitmap fonts.
These fonts can be loaded/imported:
- Windows bitmap fonts (FON, FNT)
- TrueType vector fonts
- Amiga bitmap fonts
- BDF bitmap fonts
- Bitmap Font Writer bitmaps
These formats can be saved/exported:
