Minimalist and customizable clock screensaver

Fliqlo is an elegant personalization software developed by an independent web/UI designer, Yuji Adachi. It is a clock screensaver that allows you to turn the screen of your desktop or laptop into a flip clock. However, its capabilities are more than that of a screensaver. It provides accurate time, switchable between 12-hour or 24-hour clock format. The app is available on Windows and Mac, but the latter offers more customizable features, such as screen orientation options, brightness control, option to show or hide the background, and viewing the clock on a primary or multiple displays.  

Installing Fliqlo on your computer

Fliqlo is easy to download. First, you need to choose the download button for the platform version of your device. Usually, a window containing your downloaded file will automatically appear, but, if not,  you can manually search for it. Once found, you must unarchive the software package, and double-click “Fliqlo.saver” file. 

You may receive an alert that will warn you about “unidentified developers,” depending on your Gatekeeper settings. In this case, you can either temporarily change your settings, or you can opt to manually copy the .saver file to your library. From the System Preferences, you will be redirected to the Screensaver control panel. You have to find and select the Fliqlo screen saver, then click ‘Install.’ The screensaver is now enabled on your desktop, if you want to customize it, you can easily select Screen Saver Options.

Some drawback and technical issue

Before you could use this personalization app, it requires you to install an Adobe Flash Player plug-in. Without this, the clock screensaver could hardly work. Moreover, Fliqlo is limited to a single color palette—black and white—which might not match all your needs or style preferences.

Another thing to take into consideration when you are weighing options to download this tool or not is that some users could notice unusual happenings with their CPU activity, specifically for Mac. When you observe and investigate your iStat Menu’s history, you will notice a strange up and down spikes of CPU usage every minute while the screensaver is in use.

Ideal for office workers

Fliqlo is one of the clock-themed screensavers that is recommended for you to try. It is an efficient and highly customizable tool that provides accurate time. It contains some drawbacks and technical issues, but, nevertheless, this is an ideal screensaver, especially for office workers.
