Seamless Flickr integration for your iPhone
The official Flickr app is designed to give you fast and easy access to the image-based social network from your mobile device.
You can use the Flickr app to view recent activity, access contacts and groups, upload photos from your device or camera, and manage your photostream. The Flickr app also includes a search function for finding people or photos based on a keyword.
The user interface of Flickr is well laid out and kept very simple. The sections of the app are represented by icons at the bottom of the screen, including Contacts & Groups, and Interesting & Nearby photos, and your own profile.
There’s also a camera icon, which allows you to take a photo and upload it directly to Flickr, including 16 different filters than you can apply to your images, in the style of those you’d find in Instagram.
Besides uploading directly from the camera, the Flickr app lets you choose an image to upload from your device’s gallery. The application lacks functionality for uploading more than one image at a time, though, which gets a bit annoying. There are few editing tools included, other than the aforementioned filters.
Viewing your photos in the Flickr app is very straightforward. You can swipe between photos to browse them, and click on a photo to open it full screen. In full-screen mode you’ll find a slideshow tool, which automatically displays your photostream in sequence.
The Flickr app still makes for an easy way to share and discover photos on the service.
