Escape captivity in this horrifying game
Fisherman’s House is a horror adventure game where you have to evade the Fisherman, a killer that kidnaps victims in order to eat them. This indie title from Platuro requires you to escape from the Fisherman’s home and try to find a way to make it onto the boat waiting outside.
Similar to Granny, you will need to go through different rooms and find keys and weapons to help you escape. Fisherman’s House makes use of horror elements and a dark setting to add to the thrill. You’ll have to rely on a small light to navigate the home.
Place yourself in the story
In Fisherman’s House, you will need to solve puzzles and obtain items to aid you along the way. While you need to avoid being seen by the monstrous antagonist, you also have to avoid making any noise. Your device’s microphone will be used by the program to alert the Fisherman of your whereabouts. However, you also have the option to turn your mic off if you prefer.
Players can also adjust the difficulty of the game if they want a greater challenge. A higher difficulty level will result in the Fisherman’s movements becoming much quicker. For a more immersive experience, the game supports VR headsets as well. This way, you will truly be able to feel like you are trapped in that isolated home with the killer.
Unfortunately, the game features some glitches that affect both the overall experience and the gameplay. The first thing to note is that the antagonist often gets stuck so the chase scenes lose some of their thrill and momentum. Additionally, some items are quite difficult to pick up and will require you to click on them repeatedly in order to obtain them.
Promising premise but still needs work
Overall, Fisherman’s House is capable of keeping you on your toes and gripping the edge of your seat as you struggle to escape the clutches of your captor. The game requires a little bit of polishing, but its chilling atmosphere and nerve-racking scenarios add a good balance that lets you fully enjoy the game as well as its storyline, especially when played using VR headsets.
