Destroy the city – with your finger!

Many games set you the task of saving the city from evil monsters. Fingerzilla flips the format on its head – now you play the part of the monster and get to destroy the city!

Fingerzilla is a simple yet, original iPhone game where your objective is to stamp out as many buildings, people, vehicles, and trees as you can. You do this simply by tapping on a target on the screen to wreak your fury on it. You can move around the city by holding and dragging the screen.

You gain points in Fingerzilla by building up combos, and taking out special targets such as your boss or the tax collector. Once the time runs out you’re informed of your progress in the form of a newspaper report. This gives an overall impression of the level of destruction to the city, along with lots of stats about your performance. Do well enough and you’ll unlock the next level. There are six levels in total in Fingerzilla to play through.

Crushing cities with Fingerzilla is worryingly satisfying, and it actually makes for a great stress reliever (it’s one of the only ways you legally get to stamp on a bank manager). However, the gameplay does get rather repetitive and before too long your fingers will ache from all that tapping. What’s more, the responsiveness of Fingerzilla isn’t that great. Often you’ll be hitting a building for a few seconds without anything happening.

Fingerzilla is a fun spin on the concept of a giant monster game, but the novelty wears off fairly quickly.
