Fallout 76 takes Bethesda’s seminal Fallout series online in this fight-for-survival, post-apocalypse multiplayer experience. What is Fallout 76 about?

Set twenty years before the events in previous Fallout Games, Fallout 76 castes you as a survivor of a global atomic war. In the prototype Vault 76, individuals have been cryogenically frozen, to awake after the nuclear fallout and rebuild planet Earth. But, things have gone terribly wrong. Fallout 76 pits you as a lonely wander eeking out an existence in a time and land before the rise of the relative stability of the factions you’ll know and love – or loathe – from the Fallout series. It’s all to play for!

What is Fallout 76’s gameplay like?

First off, you need to survive, and for that you’ll need water, rations and equipment. The environment itself – from hazardous radiation to animals or mutated abominations – is your enemy. The multiplayer aspect comes in in that each player is on a huge world with between 20-30 other human players. So, while not a true MMO, this is much more in the vein of Destiny and other smaller scale multiplayer experiences. Whether you want to team up with buddies, hunt other humans or just drop nukes across the map, Fallout 76 is the game for you.
