Notifications on your desktop
The Facebook Dashboard Widget makes sure you take your social networking experience straight to your desktop. Limited to notifications, it will update automatically, except if you wish to set it to manual and update it yourself. The widget displays the typical Facebook notifications, ie messages, friend requests, pokes and group invites and can be customized from its preferences menu.
You won’t be able to see who poked you, or who sent you a friend request from the widget though. Clicking on one of the notifications will take you to the item in your Facebook account. You’ll have to make sure you’ve entered your password first though.
This widget will bring Facebook notifications onto your desktop. A real distraction!
The Facebook Dashboard Widget is a dashboard widget developed for Mac OS X. It is designed to show notifications from the popular Facebook website. Some of the notifications it can display are:
- Messages
- Pokes
- Friend Requests
- Group Invites

The widget is fully customizable via the preferences pane (click the āiā in the bottom left corner). The widget automatically gets new notifications from the Facebook website, but there is also the option to manually refresh the widget to update it instantly.
