EU Exit: ID document check for iphone from Home Office
EU Exit: ID Document Check is a FREE online identity check app for EU citizens, Swiss and EEA nationals in the UK.
The app allows you to confirm your identity online, in the same way as you would if you were requesting an identity document from your local police station.
If you need to check your identity because you are:
- planning a move to the UK
- considering returning to the UK
- applying for a visa or applying for some other kind of immigration status
- you are not an EU citizen, Swiss or EEA national, you will need to apply by post.
What you need to do to use the app:
1. Download EU Exit: ID Document Check for Android, iOS, or Mac OS
2. If you already have an EU identity document, you will need to take an image of it with your phone’s camera. Your document will be read using the app
3. If you do not have an EU identity document, you will need to take an image of it.
4. You will need to photograph your face, to allow the app to recognise you
5. You will need to upload your photograph and your signature to the app
6. The app will scan your document and show you whether it has been accepted or not
7. You can change the country you are applying for, or the place you are requesting the identity check to be done, by clicking on the options button.
