Anime-style action-adventure game for PC
Eternal Radiance is a premium role-playing game for PC by developer Visualnoveler. In this action-adventure title, players take on the role of a squire in training to become a knight. They will go on a journey to test their skills, prove their worth, and meet others along the way.
Similar to Genshin Impact and NieR: Automata, Eternal Radiance boasts a vast and vibrant world for players to roam in and explore. They will traverse through various locations and biomes on their journey. A variety of enemies and creatures will appear, and they must work together to overcome challenges and threats.
Road to knighthood
Knights, much like any other warrior, are built with discipline and training, and this notion is what Eternal Radiance is all about. In it, you play as Celeste, a squire in training who is hoping to herself worthy to be granted the honorary title of knighthood. Together with your companions, Valana and Ruby, embark on a journey to discover the world, and ultimately, who she is in the process.
The game is a mix of visual novel stylings and open-world exploration where you venture out into the wild. Combat is of the RPG variety, which is to say, you have your basic attacks that are complemented by a talent tree that you slowly unlock as you level up. You also get a good amount of character customization here with the various gear and items you’ll pick up.
You’ll get to visit castles, small towns, and other locations throughout. While you won’t be able to explore them, there are multiple characters to meet and interact with. Some of them will even join your party and help you out. Ultimately, though, the experience is rather forgettable, with repetitive combat, an okay story, and inconsistent performance. This isn’t something to sink your teeth into.
More of a glow
All in all, if you’re looking for a JRPG-style game to try out, Eternal Radiance is one option to consider. While it won’t wow you with robust combat or a compelling story, it’s a solid action-adventure title that you can casually jump into and enjoy for quick play sessions. Here’s to hoping more content comes in future updates to improve upon the experience.
