ePSXe opens up Playstation gaming for more platforms
Retro gaming is a big deal these days, as players love the nostalgia of revisiting games they played years ago, while new gamers like to see the origins of the latest franchises. For those who don?t have access to a console or wish to preserve it, ePSXe is a good, free way to play games on other platforms, using emulation. This free software allows you to play various PS1 titles on devices other than the console.
Advanced emulator gaming
Emulators are programs which replicate the software and hardware of another system. Typically, emulators are made by third parties to allow console games to run on PC and mobile hardware. In other words, ePSXe lets you run Playstation games on your computer. This is a tricky area legally so players do so at their own risk. There is also a technical aspect, emulation is not perfect and while ePSXe is considered one of the best out there, it isn?t easy to use. The interface is a bit clunky and confusing and games may not run at all, depending on a huge variety of technical settings. Guides are available on their forums.
Could be great, may be frustrating
Those who can get ePSXe working will love it. Being able to replicate PS1 era games on mobile is really good fun, though of course many of them don?t respond to touch screen controls very well. This software is more of a gadget to tinker with than a reliable, finished product.
