Control Your Wireless Printer with this App
Epson Print and Scan
is a photography printer app that was designed to control your WiFi-connected Epson All-In-One printer on Windows 8. By using this app, you can precisely toggle any settings for printing and scanning—a much better program than the default printer menu on your computer. However, you must take note that this isn’t just an app you can optionally use if you wanted to. If you own the Epson Wireless All-In-One models, you’ll be needing this app to be able to operate it.
The Printer You Need
Epson or Seiko Epson Corporation—from the abbreviation of “Son of Electronic Printer”—is a Japanese electronics company and one of the world’s largest manufacturers of computer printers, and information and imaging-related equipment. It manufactures various types of printers—like inkjet, dot matrix and laser printers—and even scanners, desktop computers, business, multimedia, and home theatre projectors, and so much more. One of its printer series is the Epson Wireless All-In-One Printer, with various models that can fit your everyday printing needs. It can print and scan documents without having to be connected to your computer or laptop—and if you want to be connected to a device, some models of the series have a USB connection feature. To use it, however, you’ll be needing Epson Print and Scan.
Can’t Live Without It
The Epson Print and Scan app is a necessary tool to avail yourself of the printer series’ convenient services. With this, you can access a settings menu specifically for your printer, wherein you can choose if you want to print or to scan. You can set the model of your printer and set the parameters of your printing. You can choose what paper size you want, what type of paper are you using, and what color will your document be in. You can also set the layout of your document, the quality of the print, and your paper source. For scanning, on the other hand, you can choose the paper size, the resolution, and the color. The app also adds in a touch-enhanced user interface feature if you have touchscreen devices. However, despite all of this, the app doesn’t perform as well as it should, and you will often be confused about what’s happening to your printing and scanning process. One popular problem is that the app doesn’t inform you of where it saves your scanned files. For your reference, it goes to Photos instead of the Scans folder.
Or Maybe You Can
Epson Print and Scan alternates with how good it works for most people. You can be patient with it if you’d like, but the fact that you even need a separate app to use your printer is just an overall poor design—not to mention that it doesn’t even support all of the models under the Wireless All-In-One series. If your internet connection isn’t the best either, this app and its printers may not be a good set for you.
