Protect your little family amid a changing world
Endling – Extinction is Forever is an eye-opening adventure video game wherein you must survive nature’s drastic changes while humanity drives itself to the very brink of extinction. Developed by Herobeat Studios, this 3D indie game features the semi-linear exploration of a gradually-deteriorating world as you try to overcome each day and night with dwindling resources.
Putting you in the paws of a fox, Endling – Extinction is Forever shows the perspective of nature’s decline through the animals —challenging you to stay alive while only using your animal skills and instincts. Additionally, you have to care for younger foxes on the side.
What device can you play Endling on?
In Endling – Extinction is Forever, you play as the last mother fox on Earth who currently has four young kits in need of food, shelter, and life training. When one of them gets kidnapped from your home, you are forced to track him down while surviving the rapid decline of the forests and rivers. Unfortunately, you must also still care for and protect your other growing kits.
The game has you hunting for food every day, scouting new temporary shelters, guiding your kits, and avoiding various dangers as you try to track down your missing child. These all seem like daunting tasks, so the side-scroller aspect of the game makes things a little bit easier to handle. Most of the time, you just move forward and back, interact with something, and either succeed or fail.
There are times that you can choose low or high platforms, though—especially when you’re trying to hide from danger. The gameplay isn’t always easy since your kits eventually follow you with their lagging AI. However, that element just adds to the challenge. Take note that the minimum requirements for this include 64-bit systems and 8GB RAM. The game is available on PC and most modern gaming consoles.
Life is fragile
All in all, Endling – Extinction is Forever is a lovely and evocative adventure game about current pressing issues we’re facing today. While its minimum system requirements can be a bit steep, the game itself is challenging but poignant—making you care about nature and the various life forms that are affected when we’re not careful with how we take care of our planet.
