Premium mech simulator for mobile
Eisen is a premium simulation game from HIDEKI HANIDA. This mech experience gives you a first-person perspective on piloting a giant robot. You enter a single-person cockpit filled with realistically designed control systems. Maneuver your giant mech, defeat the enemies, and purchase the upgrades for your ultimate fighting machine.
In line with its attempts at realism, Eisen can feel very clunky and slow, making it a point of debate. Still, there are a couple of optimization issues that make it difficult to appreciate, especially for low- and mid-range devices. Imagine a cross between Robot Warfare: Mech Battle and World of Tanks.
Prepare for futuristic warfare
In simple terms, Eisen is straightforward as it is realistic. This game from acclaimed game developer Hideki Hanida lets you experience being a new mech pilot. It skips dedicated tutorial sections like in other games. Instead, you are asked to step inside the cramped cockpit and explore on your own. Another immersive aspect is that aside from making the robot move, you also learn military strategy to survive later on.
For the interface, you only use your touchscreen to interact with different objects in front of you. Drag and slide the joystick to make the machine walk, run, and turn. You have a couple of buttons that deploy your assigned weaponry. Aside from the massive windshield in front of you, there are also a couple of screens that provide relevant information.
As mentioned, realism might not sit well with other players. It is slow and clunky, although its mechanical movements are accompanied by realistic sound effects. The visual quality, the smooth gameplay, and the wide range of sounds all make this game a potentially demanding app. Older devices have been found to experience stuttering, lags, or outright freezing the game. It can also cause older devices to heat up.
As lifelike as it gets
If you’ve wanted a fullscreen immersion in piloting a mech, Eisen is your best bet. It optimizes your phone’s display in portrait mode to show a personal space that is both believable and well-designed. If you prefer realism, then you’ll definitely enjoy the clunky movement paired with mechanical sound effects. However, older devices might experience a couple of issues when running this game. Recommended.
