Create and print labels from your phone
Dymo Connect is a free productivity application that allows users to create and save labels using their mobile devices. It comes with some valuable features, including spellcheck and voice-to-text options to make label-making a breeze. It even allows you to create barcodes and QR code objects.
For more convenience, Dymo Connect allows you to connect phones to a printer, unlike other similar apps, such as Logo Creator. With this, you don’t have to transfer the file to your computer and print them from there. However, as promising as the app sounds, it does not work most of the time.
How do you use Dymo Connect?
Dymo Connect already has prepared templates that you can use to create your label. You only need to click the template and provide the details. You can then freely design them by adding borders and styles. The program also allows you to change the font using the widely-popular Google® fonts. As noted, you can also create a barcode, a QR code, and even a price tag.
Dymo Connect allows users to personalize their labels further by adding clip arts and other pre-provided images. You can even add ones from your phone’s image gallery. Inserting images is as simple as inserting an image using Microsoft Word. More, you can save images and tag them as ‘favorite’ for easier access the next time. However, editing the pictures you added is only limited to resizing them.
Unfortunately for users, the app is not functional most of the time. Not only does it always fail to connect to the printer, sometimes it fails to launch. Once you attempt to open it, only a blank white screen will appear. Worse, no matter how many times you troubleshoot it—reboot, uninstall, and reinstall—the problem persists. It may claim to offer easy label-making, but its performance says otherwise.
Needs major work
Basing on the description provided by the developer, Dymo Connect is a promising label design app. With it, you can design labels without going through elaborate processes. However, it is impossible nowadays as the app is basically non-functional. Most of the time, you cannot launch it, let alone use its features. It needs a major revamp for it to perform even at a working level.
