Free-to-use virtual currency app
Doubloon Bank is a free lifestyle app from FM Games. This virtual banking app lets you manage, store, and track all your Doubloons, an imaginary currency inspired by the social media platform TikTok. Aside from acting as your digital wallet, this app also acts as an inventory for the items you have gained from trading your coins or competing with other users.
Still, it is worth noting that Doubloon Bank and its virtual currency are different from most cryptocurrency platforms, like those traded in Binance or Blockfolio since it can’t be traded to other currencies beyond TikTok’s platform.
Manage your cat-given money
Doubloon Bank works more like a note of its namesake virtual currency. However, the doubloons in this app are different from the old Spanish gold coins, and the DBL cryptocurrency of the same name. Also known as dabloons, it was popularized in TikTok, with influencers offering the fictional coin in exchange for favors or services. Another unique feature is that it is mostly handed out by cats or cat-like avatars.
As for the app layout, it’s not visually appealing. It relies on a meme-styled design, with photos of the traditional doubloon and cats all over. However, it makes up for it in terms of being user-friendly. It has simple controls for computing transactions. You can add or subtract doubloons and input the value you need. It also includes an icon redirecting the user to the developers’ official Discord server.
It’s also worth noting that the app has a lot of internet humor injected into the app, with cats responding to your deposits with “OMG, You’re So Rich” or “No Way You Made This Much Without Robbing.” As for the restriction, the currency has no official platform and can’t be traded into real money. Consider it as a fictional virtual currency driven by the collaboration between TikTok users.
A fun currency tracker
Since doubloons are not traceable like legitimate cryptocurrencies, Doubloon Bank is more of an interactive notepad to keep track of your gains and transactions. It doesn’t store what you earn from TikTok, and doesn’t transact on your behalf. As for the app, it looks like something you’d expect from the internet generation through an unusual mix of streamlined controls and meme-filled references.
