Disk Activity Indicator
If you’ve ever had a machine hang on you and you don’t know if it’s crashed or it’s just very busy, you might have a use for Disk LED. This app displays disk activity so you’ll know if your computer is working.
Simple Yet Effective
One side affect of Apple’s desire to make their hardware as sleek and attractive as possible is that they don’t put anything on the outside of their devices that they don’t absolutely have to. This is great for looks, but can be a pain when you need to know if a disk is currently active. Disk LED sits in your status bar and acts as an indicator to show you when a given disk is being read or written to. You can choose the type of indicator, alter the refresh rate with which Disk LED checks the drive, and you can hover over an LED to see what drive it represents.
Effective at What it Does
If you need a disk activity indicator, Disk LED does the job and does it well. There are some niggling issues such as occasional unresponsiveness and not being able to choose the order the LEDs are in, but nothing serious.
