Companion app for Direct Express users
Direct Express Mobile is a free finance application for mobile devices coming from Comerica Bank. It’s the official companion app for Direct Express that lets new and existing users access and manage their accounts, and pay using Debit Mastercard. It supports holders with card numbers starting with 533248. Note that you will need to register again with your card details when you login for the first time.
Easier benefit claiming
Compared to other financial and banking platforms like Citi Mobile or Chase Mobile, Direct Express Mobile helps facilitate claiming benefits from the federal government. Once you receive your monthly payments, you can then use them for in-store payments with partner merchants or online purchases via Debit Mastercard, with cashback in some cases.
Other functions of the app include changing your PIN, reporting lost cards, and filing disputes for transactions in case of unusual charges to your account. Now, before proceeding, just take note that this specific app will only work for card numbers 533248 and up. For those starting with 511563, use the alternative Direct Mobile app.
New app for new users
All in all, Direct Express Mobile is an overhaul to the old app and will be the de facto platform for new accounts moving forward. It brings many of the same features and functionality as the former, while still making the process of claiming federal benefits as simple as possible for everyone. Check it out.
