A fanmade partial remake of Dino Crisis 2

Dino Crisis 2 – Jungle of Silence is a fan-made partial remake of the popular PlayStation game of the same name. This game features a short new mission from the original game, and allows fans of the original game to see the Dino Crisis with improved graphics.

This game is a third-person shooter with a strong emphasis on suspense elements. In this regard, it is similar to games like Resident Evil 3, and Silent Hill 2, though, unlike those games, the focus is more on action and less on horror.

A Dino Crisis homage

Dino Crisis was a third-person shooter game for the PlayStation that saw the player control a cast of characters during outbreaks of deadly dinosaurs and other creatures. The game takes place in a variety of enclosed spaces—such as laboratories—to add to the tension. Being an independently-made fan game, Dino Crisis 2 – Jungle of Silence only features one mission, however.

Improved graphics

Dino Crisis 2 – Jungle of Silence has been created in Unreal Engine 4, allowing the developer to employ much higher fidelity graphics than the original PlayStation games could take advantage of. The game assets have been remade, rather than the lower resolution assets of the original ported over.

Very short and of limited appeal

Being a single mission, the game is very short. And, while the graphics are improved over the original Dino Crisis games, they are still quite low in quality by today’s standards. That, combined with the fact that the original developers seem uninterested in revisiting the franchise, means it is likely that only fans of the original franchise will be interested in this game.
