Delta-Gal is an action-packed adventure game inspired by the Megaman series—although unlike that series, this appears with cel-shading baked into the textures. This game was created by independent developer Arthur Vyater to offer gamers a low-poly Metroidvania third-person shooter. As for its graphics, you’ll see sharp blocky characters and vibrant colors. The result is a smoother and more intuitive version of the classic Megaman games.

What is Delta-Gal?

Delta-Gal pays tribute to Megaman by reflecting its graphics, as well as its entire presentation—from the way the vehicles drive around town to the way non-playable characters walk in cycles. They even mimic the first-person perspective of the camera, as if you’re having a conversation with another character. You can also purchase upgrades from the local Gear Shop

Its developer has included new concepts that make the game stand out. First is that the game controls feel more like an advanced third-person game with smooth development and dynamic camera controls. While having the option to run isn’t actually new in the genre, it has not been fully utilized outside of 2D games. You will also have the ability to sprint after dashing forward, jumping in the air, and bouncing off the walls

These development choices open up the possibility of performing stunts around your adversaries that cause this game to appear to be more similar to a character-activity game than a hop-and-shoot adventure. Another surprise is the manner by how stuffed the demo actually is. You’d genuinely expect something along the lines of a straightforward motor test wherein you’d go around the earth and essentially relax in the flawless visuals, but that’s not just what the game has.

Experience the nostalgia and adventure!

Delta-Gal is a great third-person RPG for long-standing Megaman fans, as the visual style conjures Megaman Legends—from the static cel-shading, the sharp and blocky character models to the brilliant hues, built-in town, and vehicle plans. While it references Megaman a lot, the game can stand on its own as a good adventure game with retro graphics and a simplistic storyline. Overall, it has high replayability value that both casual and experienced players can enjoy.
