Dark Fall: The Journal – A Haunting Adventure Game
Dark Fall: The Journal is a horror-adventure game developed by Darkling Room for Windows. Set in an old, abandoned train station called Dowerton, the game presents a mysterious and haunted atmosphere, filled with eerie ghostly phenomena. From the very beginning, players encounter an overwhelming and invisible ghost presence, manifested through strange calls, footsteps, and haunting voices.
As the protagonist, your mission is to help your brother, an architect redeveloping the train station and hotel, who reaches out for your assistance after experiencing unexplained disappearances and unsettling whispers. Intrigued and alarmed by his frightened voice, you embark on a suspenseful journey, uncovering the secrets of the abandoned location. The game’s World War 2 setting is beautifully realized in 3D graphics.
Throughout the gameplay, you must use ghost-hunting gadgets to peer into the past, interact with supernatural entities, and uncover the long-lost secrets hidden within the haunted hotel and train station. The non-linear story, crafted by Jonathan Boakes, author of The Lost Crown, adds depth and complexity to the immersive experience.
As you explore the dark and chilling surroundings, you’ll encounter devious puzzles and enigmas, which should challenge your detective skills. Communication with ghosts through a Ouijaboard and deciphering ancient languages adds to the intrigue. With a full cast of actors and atmospheric sound effects, Dark Fall: The Journal creates a truly spooky and haunting atmosphere.
