D.E.C.A.Y – Better Ghouls
D.E.C.A.Y – Better Ghouls, is an awesome feral ghoul overhaul and follower overhaul for the game that I’ve been having a lot of fun with. It’s been created by Thumblesteen, who is a great guy, and used some awesome mods to make this game better than it ever has been before. The main thing I like about his mods are the way they mesh with the actual vanilla game. For example, his vampire overhauls are extremely well done and really bring life to the undead – which were, let’s be honest, pretty boring and one-dimensional in vanilla. His unique style of combat gives new life to combat, too, with the way his new weapon mechanics work – I have more time fighting with my friends now, because each weapon feels different when fighting, and they don’t just run away when killed.
Like I said, though, that’s not all that D.E.C.A.Y has done. As far as game play goes, you’ll have a lot of fun choosing between the different races and flavors of feline companions and also customizing your character using a wide variety of options. The fact that there are a ton of quests to do and a lot of quests to complete still leaves something to be desired, but I think it’s definitely a good game to play, and the creators of D.E.C.A.Y., namely Thumblesteen, definitely delivered on their promises. My experience playing this game, to me, has been both very fun and extremely challenging, which is a definite high point for this game. There aren’t many games out there that give you so much freedom while still maintaining an atmosphere that’s equally entertaining and challenging, and I’m sure many fans of The Dead Zone will feel the same way.
I personally enjoyed playing the game, though I know many people who hate it (which I’ve seen first hand). The game overall is well-made, though there were some parts that were a bit rough around the edges (mainly with the technical aspects of things). Otherwise, however, it’s a fantastic game that many people will find enjoyable, and I’m sure it’ll garner enough popularity to gain a sequel in the future. I am very eager to see what D.E.C.A.Y has up its sleeve, as it looks like it will reach even greater heights than the previous games. I am also eager to see whether or not it becomes as popular as other successful titles like Team Hazard or F.R.I.E.N.G. (for those who haven’t played it yet).
