Trigger Happy Havoc, in First Person
Cyber Danganronpa: The Class Trial is a virtual reality adventure game. It is set in the Danganronpa universe, where high school students are placed into a deadly situation and must fight amongst themselves to survive. The Class Trial is unique in being a VR title, and in containing only one murder and accompanying trial: the fourth case of the original Danganronpa.
One Murder, Many Viewpoints
Without spoiling the contents of the case itself, the game throws you into the middle of the murder of a highly respected student. You take the role of investigator and interrogator Makoto Naegi, who along with his fellow well-dressed students, works through the details of the murder. The game does have a few nice graphical updates relative to the original, but only provides a bit of context for the murder.
For Ultimate Players Only
Overall, Cyber Danganronpa: The Class Trial could be a great sign of the VR titles to come, in the Danganronpa series and elsewhere, but it is rather short, and provides only a small amount of context to new players. Because Cyber Danganronpa essentially takes a part of the original story and makes it into a VR title, it’s mostly just series veterans and VR buffs who should consider picking up the game.
