A puzzle platformer that twists gravity
Cublast HD is a puzzle platformer game in which the player controls a ball through a series of complex grid-based levels. They are rendered in a neon light style against a featureless background. The player is able to use a range of things to help them achieve their goal, including momentum, physics, and the geometry of the level.
Though the game is a physics-based puzzle game involving a ball, it is more like Eggy than Marble Skies in actual gameplay. This is largely owed to the 2D playstyle, even though the graphics are in 3D.
Vibrant and colorful platforming
Cublast HD puts the player in control of a glowing ball in a world of neon obstacles. The player must find their way to the end by timing their jumps perfectly to avoid traps and reach platforms. Along the way, the player will need to collect Blastpoints while traversing the 100+ levels that the game has to offer.
Levels, game modes, and content
In addition to the standard single-player mode available, the player can compete with friends (or cooperate with them) locally using shared and split-screen multiplayer. Plus, on top of the 100+ levels available to play, there is also community content to experience. The soundtrack is also adaptive, meaning it reacts to the player’s actions.
Great-looking but unforgiving game
While the visual appeal of the game is obvious, players who are considering giving it a go should be aware that it is a difficult game, particularly as the levels progress. Casual players may find it increasingly hard going and not fun as they move through the levels.
