Clone of the Google Chrome browser
Google Chrome has quickly proved itself as one of the fastestbrowsers out there. CrossOver Chromium is a browser inspired by Chrome original, but has nothing to do with Google.
It’s basically a clone of Chrome and has very similar features such as tabbed browsing, high speeds and the same look and feel. However, CrossOver Chromium is nowhere near as stable as the real thing and expect lots of crashes and problems when you start. Even the developers of CrossOver Chromium recommend not using the program as your default browser at this stage. They say the aim of the project is to “build a safer, faster, and more stable way for all Internet users to experience the web.”
When you install CrossOver Chromium, you’re asked to close your default browser and import data. When you first open it, you will find it has more or less the same configuration settings as your default browser. However, this is one of the few high points in what is generally a poor attempt at cloning the Chrome browser.
CrossOver Chromium doesn’t deliver any miracles but if you’re on of those that loves to try anything Google inspired, you might like it.
