An endless dungeon crawler game for PC
Core Keeper is a premium adventure game for PC by developer Pugstorm. It’s a dungeon crawler sandbox title in which players will get to explore a mysterious cavern as they search for treasure and an ancient relic. Along the way, they will face and battle against all kinds of creatures and monsters.
Core Keeper has a similar look and presentation to Moonlighter. Both offer action-adventure experiences featuring charming pixel graphics mixed with survival elements. This demo version provides a nice preview of how the game will play, while a planned release is being eyed for March 8, 2022.
Mine mine mine
Core Keeper is essentially an isometric action-adventure with survival elements to it. In it, you play an explorer who awakens inside a dark and mysterious cavern filled with deadly creatures, treasure, and bountiful resources. To survive, you will need to venture forth and dig your way through this seemingly endless labyrinth and scavenge for supplies and other essential tools and equipment that you’ll need.
As you gain more resources, you can start building a base to serve as your shelter and place of operations. Expand your territory and create various structures to support research, crafting, and other activities with the use of a core. This is where the game gets its name as you’ll need to constantly power up your core to unlock its hidden potential and mysteries.
What’s more, Core Keeper features an online co-op sandbox mode with up to 8 players. You can visit each other’s bases, help mine resources, or even go on expeditions to search for treasure and other loot. As mentioned earlier, its planned release date is March 8. However, this will be in Early Access status. It still has some ways to go before the full game comes out.
Potentially a keeper
In conclusion, Core Keeper is a game with some rather interesting gameplay mechanics. It offers a nice mix of open-world exploration and survival with base-building and a simple yet, fun combat. Plus, being able to play with seven other friends extend the fun factor and the possibilities of what you can do in it. Give this one a shot.
