Fun and kookie RPG for mobile
Cooking Run: Kingdom is a free role playing game developed by Devsisters Corporation for mobile. It is the latest entry in the Cookie Run series that brings back GingerBrave, Strawberry Cookie, and the rest of the gang for a new adventure to stop an ancient evil that threatens the land.
Compared to the previous release in the series, Cookie Run: OvenBreak, which was an endless runner, Cooking Run: Kingdom will the developer’s first foray into RPG territory. Players will form a team from a roster of characters with their own individual strengths that can be used in battle.
How do I play it?
Similar to other Cookie Run games before, this has the same cute and adorable graphics and art style with Cookie Run: Kingdom. It features plenty of cutscenes that help tell the story of its big baddie, the Monster Cake, as well as the characters that you’ll get to meet along your journey. You play as GingerBrave, a gingerbread cookie tasked with defeating this great evil and saving the world.
There are two main gameplay areas to be experienced in the game, namely base-building and engaging in battles. The former will have you collect resources that you will need to build various structures in your kingdom and make it more livable for your people. Meanwhile, the latter is where you can form a squad consisting of five members, and fight in either story mode or against other players via PVP.
There’s a benefit to focusing on building your kingdom as it will also unlock plenty of content for you to explore and enjoy. Going the other route, you can do constant battles to unlock more levels and push the story forward. Speaking of battles, this is one aspect where the game falls short. It relies heavily on automated attacks and a shallow skill system. It can get repetitive after a while.
A nice entry to the Cookie Run series
If you’ve been a long-time fan of the Cookie Run series and you’re looking for something new to experience, Cookie Run: Kingdom will be a nice surprise. This is the first time that Devsisters released an RPG-style game and it is well made. The graphics are great, there is plenty to do, and it brings back fan-favorites from previous releases. Recommended.
