Change the color of the trackball on your Blackberry Pearl

ColorPearl is a neat app that allows you to change the color of your Blackberry trackball without getting involved in the technicalities.

The trackball is one of the best things about the Blackberry phone. The pearly white glow is very stylish, but it can get a little boring when you’re looking at it every day. There are hacks you can perform on your device to change the color but these are generally a little fiddly and not recommended for the uninitiated.ColorPearl is an excellent alternative, allowing you to alter the color of the Blackberry Pearl trackball in just a few steps.

ColorPearl can be found in the Options menu of the Blackberry OS; you simply choose ‘ColorPearl’ before selecting a color from the list.The process is really simple, although we would have liked a few more colors to choose from, but you can’t have everything. If you’re a tweak freak and want to give your Blackberry a bit of a personal touch, ColorPearl makes for a nice gimmick.

ColorPearl allows you to change the color of the trackball on your BlackBerry Pearl. You can enable or disable the color setting by selecting ‘Options’ and choosing ‘ColorPearl’.

Please note that the BlackBerry 8800 and Curve/8300 do not have the colored LEDs behind the trackball, so there is no way to make ColorPearl work on them.
