Social, photo-based sharing

Color is a social sharing app for your iPhone that will allow you to take photos and create photo-based groups with people located near you.

The idea behind Color is to create a social network that doesn’t require you to log in or add friends. When you install the app, you’ll be asked for your first name – and that’s it. You then start to take photos or videos of the things around you, and in turn, you’ll see photos that others in the same location have added.

It’s important to bear in mind that the only photos that get shared with Color are the ones taken with the app, so your personal photos stay private. Color automatically groups the photos you post and receive into location-based groups. You’ll also be able to comment on other people’s photos and like them, as well as sharing posts via Twitter, Facebook and more.

It’s fun to see the photos taken by other people around you, but in all, Color seems like a strange app. It’s still in early stages, but it seems badly designed – there are no instructions, it’s unclear what the app’s buttons do and there are no configuration options. If Color’s developers make it a bit more user-friendly, however, this app could be a lot of fun.

Color is a fun sharing idea, but it needs a lot more work before it’s user-friendly.
