Be the hero, vertically
City Jump: Strike Back is a distance arcade game with a superhero.
The vertical distance game is a common genre for mobile devices. City Jump: Strike Back alters the premise by introducing the playable character as a superhero who is fighting invading aliens.
City Jump: Strike Back uses a recognizable two-sided running surface. Players will jump from each side avoiding hazards while destroying aliens that move across the running area. It is possible to destroy aliens by jumping through them, but players cannot be hit in any other way or they will fail.
Along with jumping, City Jump: Strike Back includes different power-ups like shields and different “super levels” where the hero will become temporarily invincible, gaining higher vertical distance and points. In higher levels, gameplay becomes more about reflex touching either side of the touchscreen to have the character jump to the opposite side of the screen.
City Jump: Strike Back has a distinct visual style, taking influence from old comic books. Since City Jump: Strike Back focuses on the vertical plane, players will spend more time focusing on attempting to gain higher levels.
The game is very much like other vertical arcade games, but does have its own distinct style. City Jump: Strike Back does not change any gameplay design and follows the recognized mechanics.
City Jump: Strike Back is an interesting vertical arcade game, but do not expect anything surprising.
