Medieval first-person slasher game for PC
Chivalry 2 is a premium action game that was developed by Torn Banner Studios for PCs. It’s a first-person combat game with an emphasis on close-quarters melee fights. It is set during medieval times and has players take on roles as knights as they experience iconic and memorable events in its history.
Similar to Kingdom Come: Deliverance, Chivalry 2 features fast and brutal combat. Skirmishes can range from one-on-one duels to facing multiple opponents that are coming from multiple directions. Fight against player-controlled knights and soldiers in this multiplayer-centric game using swords, mace, crossbows, and many other types of weapons.
How do I play Chivalry 2?
Chivalry 2 is in first-person perspective, but you can switch to a third-person view if you want. It equips you with various types of weapons, including long swords and sledgehammers for melee, and bows and arrows for ranged combat. New weapons can be found in weapon caches spread across the map. If worse comes to worst, you can even pick up dismembered limbs, and swing for your life.
In terms of gameplay, Chivalry 2 has two modes that can support a maximum of 64 players. The first one is a regular Team Deathmatch and the second is a Team Objective that consists of attacking and defending various points of interest on the map. Combat revolves around horizontal/vertical swings and stabs, as well as blocking for defense — simple but timing is crucial.
Chivalry 2 takes inspiration from its predecessors, and further polishes and refines what is already there. If its recently concluded closed beta is anything to go by, this game is looking to be one of the best first-person melee-focused multiplayer games to release so far. It comes out on PC and other major platforms on June 8, 2021.
Brutal and immensely satisfying combat
All in all, Chivalry 2 is shaping up to be a release that medieval game fans should most certainly watch out for. Its combat is brutal, satisfying, and very polished. The game takes all the great things about the previous game and refines them even further to create an almost faultless game experience. This is a highly recommended game that is worth checking out when it releases.
