An exquisite puzzle platformer game

Chants of Sennaar is a puzzle platformer game developed by Rundisc for PC and Nintendo Switch users. Available as a free trial demo on Steam, this action-adventure game is based on the myth of Babel. It seeks to take the ‘Traveler’ on a journey of exploration to bring balance and understanding back to the people who inhabit the tower.

Unlike the 2D platformer Maguite or the 3D platformer A Hat in Time, Chants of Sennaar doesn’t reveal the identity or facial features of the Traveler or any of the other characters. The focus here is on solving puzzles, outwitting guardians, entering forbidden areas, and deciphering codes.

Who can use it?

Upon release, this puzzle platformer will be available to Nintendo Switch users. PC owners with a 64-bit processor and operating system can also play the game.

What is it about?

This 3D platformer takes the player through a tower labyrinth to explore, learn languages, and solve puzzles within the building. Users match symbols with images, log their interactions with silent characters into a journal, and share their findings so that characters can understand each other.

What’s special about it?

Much like a point-and-click game, Chants of Sennaar focuses on identifying the meaning of symbols. It is based on context and actions, with increasing but not a challenging level of difficulty. Users can play it in English or French, practice stealth and distraction techniques, and solve puzzles at a leisurely pace.
