A Command & Conquer: Zero Hour mod
C&C Tiberian Dawn Redux Mod is a free mod made by fans of the Command & Conquer game series. Specifically, this mod brings elements from the original Command & Conquer games into a new engine, allowing players to effectively play the missions from the original games in a new, graphically superior game engine.
This mod is for Command & Conquer: Zero Hour and incorporates classic missions, units, music, and more. The game allows players to compete in skirmish and multiplayer mode and features 30 playable missions.
Recreating the classic Command & Conquer games
C&C Tiberian Dawn Redux Mod aims to bring the classic feel of Command & Conquer to a newer game engine—albeit a game engine that itself is quite dated now. This involves a number of custom-made units, as most of the content from the original games cannot be ported into the new engine directly. However, the soundtrack and some stop motion videos have.
New content
The mod does add some new content, however. Several of the missions included in the mod are new ones—loosely based on the covert operations missions. This has the added bonus of introducing two new fully functioning factions; the Black Hand of Nod and GDI’s Task Force Talon. Both factions come with new buildings, units, and strategies.
A good mod for fans of C&C but a little dated
C&C Tiberian Dawn Redux Mod should be a compelling option for fans of the original Command & Conquer games, bringing the original content into a newer engine with better graphics than the original. However, the game engine is quite old, and the graphics look dated by today’s standards.
