Improve your Mount & Blade gaming experience
Calradia 1050 A.D.: Mercenary Uprising is a free mod for Mount & Blade: Warband that aims to improve the game through a wide range of modifications. These modifications include changes to several main gameplay features, graphics, and sounds.
First released in 2008, Mount & Blade established the fictional continent of Calradia. With the Calradia 1050 A.D.: Mercenary Uprising mod, the game introduces a rich backstory and new factions.
The history of Calradia
In the original Mount & Blade game series, there is no overacting storyline. While you can complete quests, there is no main objective in the sandbox gameplay style. The history of Calradia is also vague, and the game only implies that you have the opportunity to bring about peace to the continent.
With the Calradia 1050 A.D.: Mercenary Uprising mod, you’re given a more in-depth backstory. It’s the year 1050, the Calradian Empire has fallen, and each of the factions fight to hold onto their land. Unbeknownst to these kingdoms, there is an uprising of two groups of mercenaries eager to invade new territories.
Plenty of changes to the original
The Calradia 1050 A.D.: Mercenary Uprising mod is built upon previous mods for Mount & Blade: Warband, including Diplomacy 4.2 and Freelancer 1.51. These mods offer enhancements like bridge battles and tavern animations, as well as added weapons, armor, and horses. Players can also modify troops.
Most notably, Calradia 1050 A.D.: Mercenary Uprising adds new factions. The Kelton Folcmaegen, many of whom fought for the Old Empire, are eager to go to war with their former enemies. Meanwhile, the Khergiz tribe, formerly Calradian auxiliary troops, are calculating which land to take for themselves.
Expanding the world of Mount & Blade
The Calradia 1050 A.D.: Mercenary Uprising mod aims to expand the universe of Mount & Blade and add an intriguing backstory to the continent of Calradia in a game that did little to establish its setting’s history. For lovers of the Mount & Blade series, it’s a welcomed modification.
