Classic Doom with survival elements

CALL OF DOOM: COD Style Advanced Weapons MOD, officially called CALL OF DOOM: Tarkov, is a free mod by Arrowood for the FPS game Doom II, the sequel to the critically acclaimed Doom. This utility transforms the base game from an old-school shoot ‘em up to a shooter-survival game

Formerly called CALL OF DOOM: Black Warfare, the mod was intended for Arrowood’s personal use, but it has since evolved into more than just a weapons pack after being shared with the community. CALL OF DOOM: Tarkov adds advanced weaponry, enhances the visuals, and adds plenty of survival-based mechanics.

An entirely new experience

Like what the official mod name implies, CALL OF DOOM: Tarkov is a fusion of three games. It has the core gameplay of Doom, the advanced weapons from Call of Duty, and the survival elements of Escape from Tarkov — resulting in an entirely new experience. It’s the perfect mod for those who enjoy those three games and seek a tougher challenge

This mod adds a total of 70 weapons and equipment to provide players with diverse options. These weapons are taken straight out of the Call of Duty games and are complemented by the mod’s implementation of Call of Duty: Warzone’s ammo system. Unlike the classic Doom, weapons placement is randomized in each run, encouraging players to adapt their tactics to whichever weapons they get first.

Moreover, the mod adds various materials and food items that create a layer of resource management akin to most survival games. Now, killing demons is no longer your only concern, you also have to make sure your resources are not depleted. However, despite all of this, the game can still experience issues present in the base game. More marksman firearms can also be added to further improve weapon diversity.

A quality add-on

If Doom with COD guns and Tarkov survival elements sounds like a fun game to you, then installing CALL OF DOOM: Tarkov is a no-brainer. The mods add so many weapons to kill demons with and the randomness added to each run improves replayability. You might find the lack of marksman weapons a bit frustrating, but that’s a small gripe compared to what this mod accomplishes.
