Arcade plays in diorama world
Button City is a point-and-click game that’s set in a bright and colorful diorama environment. Developed by Subliminal, it offers you a wide variety of arcade gameplays wherein many adorable animal friends like foxes, pandas, cats, and more can be encountered. This narrative-driven game will follow the journey of Fennel, the new fox in town.
The adventures in Button City mainly revolve around Fennel’s gradual friendship development with other low-poly creatures and eventually becoming an active member of a community. For more fun cute games like this, try playing Toca Boo and Flappy Golf 2.
Charming but challenging exploration
Button City’s gameplay will start with Fennel moving into a brand-new town. As a shy young fox, he finds it hard to befriend others as he often isolates himself in his room playing video games. His life changes once he stumbles upon a local arcade wherein two clashing groups are fighting to be hailed as the best in the city—and ends up joining the Fluff Squad after they needed a fourth member.
From there, he’ll meet tons of animals who exhibit varying personalities—including the quirky panda, Lavender, and the hyperactive cat, Sorrel. Most importantly, he’ll also encounter the greedy and fat feline named Peppermint Pepperbottom whom he has to be wary of, especially regarding his evil plans. There are about three mini-arcade puzzles that you can enjoy here, simulating Fennel’s attempts to help out his new crew.
The first one involves an intergalactic competition between four perky fruit robots called Gobabots. If you love racing, the second arcade game will exhilarate you with tuned-up electric cars. Lastly, there’s an upbeat rhythm game containing hip visuals and tunes that you must correctly hit. Unfortunately, softlocks—or instances wherein you get stuck somewhere—can randomly happen so you must play with caution.
A multitude of fun and exciting quests
Apart from adorable animal characters, Button City’s charm is its story-driven gameplay and diverse minigames that can easily capture the interest of players, especially those who love breakneck-speed activity. Its visual graphics and background sound are also pleasing to hear so, you will truly have fun following the journey of Fennel and how he slowly opens up his heart to his friends and the community.
