Efficient burning utility for music and data disks

Burn4Free is a colorful, popular burning utility that allows you to easily burn your audio, video and data files to CD and DVD.

Burn4Free is fast and direct, with two user modes, Expert and Easy. Using it couldn’t be simpler – you add your files and hit Burn Audio or Burn Data. There’s also a fly window that allows you to drag and drop files for burning without even opening the program.

Burn4Free also allows you to burn ISO files, and has decent configuration settings. The interface can be a little overwhelming at times, but a bit of messing around with the View options should make it a less confusing. There is also an auto-shutdown feature – perfect for time consuming processes like burning discs.

Unfortunately, Burn4Free is so full of ads that it is unpleasant to use. As you modify the toolbars, you’ll notice that half of the program “options” are actually links to the Burn4Free website where you are encouraged to download more software. If that isn’t irritating enough, it automatically installs a toolbar – in my book, that earns the program a serious black mark.

Burn4Free is a perfectly good program but is ruined by ads and sneaky toolbars.
