Virtual Reality, Side-scrolling Brawler
Bloody Zombies for the PSVR (Playstation Virtual Reality) system is a side-scrolling, multiplayer beat-em-up, in which up to four players can work together either online, or through couch co-op. In local co-op, only one person can use a VR headset, but the only limitation imposed is a smaller field of view. This game uses 2-dimensional, yet high-quality graphics to create battles with plenty of gore.
A Considerable Arsenal at Your Disposal
This very British game, Bloody Zombies, employs a vast array of methods that can be used to dispatch the bloody hordes of undead. Light and heavy attacks can be chained into combos, whilst throws, and dash and jump attacks increase combat variety. Collectable weaponry can also be employed within each level to increase a player’s zombie-killing prowess. What’s more, there is a special moves system that further diversifies the range of moves available in each battle. Four players can engage the zombies together, though the experience is slightly improved for the headset user, who has greater control over the range of view.
Final Thoughts
Since the number of multiplayer titles has been quite small whilst the system is in its infancy, Bloody Zombies provides a good co-op experience for a group of friends. The experience is better for the headset user, of which there can only be one at any time.
