Score runs and take wickets in this free game
Big Bash Cricket is a free sports mobile video game wherein you can compete against the best of the best in the Australian cricket league. Developed by Nextwave Multimedia, this 3D game features easy-to-follow gameplay and various game modes you can try out.
Similar to the NBA series, Big Bash Cricket lets you play as real-life athletes in their respective teams. Fans of the sport and this particular league will be familiar with the content offered here. However, new fans might find themselves a bit lost when it comes to the intricacies of cricket due to the lack of a beginner-friendly guide.
How does the Big Bash work?
Big Bash Cricket directly references the Big Bash League, which is an Australian professional franchise Twenty20 cricket league first established in 2011. Often abbreviated to BBL or Big Bash, this annual competition features eight city-based franchises or teams competing for the grand prize. This is played by two teams of 11 players and they must either bat or bowl the ball to have a chance at scoring.
Now, cricket fans will easily understand the gameplay of Big Bash Cricket since it pretty much lets you play out the BBL on your own mobile device. However, those who aren’t familiar with the rules will find the tutorial a bit confusing. It guides you through the controls but doesn’t really explain the terms and whether your actions were a win or a fail.
There are various game modes you can try. There’s Quick Play, Mini Game Super Over, the KFC Bucket Ball Challenge, Full Tournament, and the local and online multiplayer modes. You can either play on the men’s or women’s teams. Meanwhile, the Ultimate 11 button lets you customize your dream team. Take note that downloading this game will yield a ZIP file containing an XAPK file that needs an XAPK installer.
A solid cricket mobile game
All in all, Big Bash Cricket is a great sports game to try out if you’re a fan of the Big Bash League or cricket in general. The installation has a few extra steps and the tutorial isn’t exactly the most accommodating to new players but its gameplay and game modes perform well enough. Plus, you can create your ultimate line-up of real-life athletes and compete against friends and strangers in multiplayer.
