Big Bash Cricket directly references the Big Bash League, which is an Australian professional franchise Twenty20 cricket league first established in 2011. Often abbreviated to BBL or Big Bash, this annual competition features eight city-based franchises or teams competing for the grand prize. This is played by two teams of 11 players and they must either bat or bowl the ball to have a chance at scoring.
