The popular console FPS comes to the iPad
Battlefield: Bad Company 2 HD is an iPad version of DICE’s popular modern warfare simulation.
There are single-player and online game modes in Battlefield: Bad Company 2. In one-player campaign mode you must complete 14 missions across five different areas. There are a variety of multiplayer modes, including online death matches, or head-to-head battles with friends over Bluetooth or WiFi.
The controls in Battlefield: Bad Company 2 are pretty easy to get to grips with. Essentially the left side of the screen is used to control movement and the right side to look around. Tap the right of the screen to fire a single shot, or hold your finger down to unleash rapid fire. While the controls work well on foot, we found navigating vehicles using the on-screen joystick in Battlefield: Bad Company 2 to be very fiddly.
Battlefield: Bad Company 2 performs well graphically and the battlefield really comes to life on the iPad 2. However, there are still some touches missing that would make this a more authentic war game, such as destructible environments and a more sophisticated AI. Some users might find the game to be a bit easy too, and you should be able to complete the 14 missions before very long.
Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is a good looking combat game that’s easy to play. Unfortunately though, the iPad still isn’t capable of recreating the heart-stopping realism of big budget PC or console FPS games.
