Open-world survival game

Badiya is a premium single-player sandbox game from Semaphore. It challenges players to survive life in the desert. In this game, you will roleplay a mercenary exploring a desert area called Badia. Your goal is to thrive in a time of unrest and industrialization.

Badiya offers an infinite procedural open world, providing a different-looking terrain, events, and enemies every time you play. There is also a time-of-day system with a 24-hour cycle for a realistic experience. Moreover, you have a lot of activities you can do to survive. However, the game is very light on the content and frequently crashes.

What is Badiya?

Badiya is a game that takes players to the desert lands of Badia during World War II. In a time where industrialization conflicts with old tradition, you will play a mercenary who will explore this seemingly infinite world of sands to fulfill your ambition. To do so, you will brave the harsh climate and fierce wildlife while also fighting and dealing with the hostile residents.

The core of the gameplay is to survive by keeping an eye on your biometric indicators. These include your health, food, thirst, and temperature. Getting those imbalanced will result in visible visual differences and gameplay consequences. As this is an exploration game, you can loot everything you can and craft items and weapons from all sorts of recipes. You can also hunt animals for their meat, fur, fat, and bones.

As mentioned, the map is an infinite procedural open world. With this, you will see different terrain, enemies, events, and loot every time you launch the game. You also have tons of character customization options to create your hero. However, while it seems that Badiya offers a lot, the content is actually very little. The app also consumes lots of processing power, which often results in your device crashing.

Should you play it?

Based on its offering, Badiya seems to be a good game for sandbox survival fans. Here, you are challenged to survive a harsh and ever-changing environment. The map is also open-world, giving you lots of areas to explore. However, despite that, the content is very limited. It also offers no progression even though you’ve done a lot. There are also various performance issues that need patching up.
