A light and compact word processor for PC
Atlantis Word Processor Lite is a free productivity program made by The Atlantis Word Processor Team for PC. It’s a standalone word processing software. As the name suggests, it’s the lite version of the premium Atlantis Word Processor while still offering much of the same features and functionalities.
Just like with Microsoft Word or Google Docs, Atlantis Word Processor Lite has all the basic features for a word processing program, including various editing and formatting tools. It’s available as an installable .exe file or as a portable version that can be copied to a USB flash drive and used anywhere.
What is Atlantis Word Processor Lite?
Atlantis Word Processor used to be known as Atlantis Ocean Mind, and it was developed and marketed as a standalone word processing solution for Windows PCs. Despite its general-use nature, the program found its audience with and gained wide adoption from writers and creative types. It has certain features and functionalities that come in handy for these specific kinds of users.
Atlantis Word Processor comes with plenty of useful features, but there is still a lot to like about the simplicity and ease of use in its Lite version. For one, the program itself is quite lightweight, coming in at under 3 MB for its installer file. It packs all the features that you would find in older office suites like Microsoft Word 2007 and other similar applications during that time. It comes with all the standard editing tools that you might need for your word processing needs.
If you are interested in trying Atlantis Word Processor Lite out, do take note and consider a few things first. First and foremost, it’s rather barebones and has many features stripped out compared to the standard version. One thing that both versions have in common though, is the limited file format support as there is only RTF, DOC, DOCX, and COD to choose from.
Fast, lightweight, but too basic
Atlantis Word Processor Lite’s fast and lightweight nature comes at a price: limited functionality. Almost all the extra features and functionalities have been stripped out for this free offering, which ends up being too basic for its own good. If you’re a writer or a creative type, Atlantis Word Processor has plenty of features that make it a worthwhile purchase. Otherwise, you would be better off using other word processors.
