Andhrystone: A Dhrystone Benchmark Ported to Android

Andhrystone is a benchmarking tool, based on the popular Dhrystone benchmark, which has been ported to Android by teknoraver. The application is a frontend that displays the results of the benchmark. It is compiled natively in C with the best optimization for every architecture. The app is free, with no authorization required, no banners, and no added fat to the code.

Dhrystone is a benchmark program that measures the performance of a computer’s CPU. The program includes a suite of algorithms that simulate common tasks performed by a computer, such as string manipulation, array manipulation, and integer arithmetic. Andhrystone measures the number of Dhrystone instructions per second (DMIPS) that a computer can execute, providing a measure of its processing speed.

Users should be aware that results may fluctuate with background tasks, so it is recommended to kill all other running applications before running the benchmark. For those interested, the app’s source code and backend source are available on GitHub. Additionally, there is a Windows version of the benchmark available on the developer’s GitHub page.
