Survival exploration game for PC
Among Trees is a premium adventure game for desktop that was made by FJRD Interactive. It is set in the wilderness wherein players reside in a little wood cabin, and they have to explore and forage for various resources to ensure their safety and survival.
Compared to similar games like Green Hell or AWAY: The Survival Series, Among Trees takes a more toned-down and realistic approach to surviving in nature. Amidst the beautiful and lush scenery it offers, players will have to contend with the very real threat of wildlife predators as they go about their business.
What is it about?
Among Trees is quite an unassuming game when you first open it up. From the get-go, you’re greeted with a relaxing and serene view of the wilderness. The colors are vibrant and the graphic is a mix of cartoonish and polygon art style, which fits with the game’s mood and theme really well. You start out with a small wood cabin that you can expand and upgrade later on.
Everything is calm and peaceful, but of course, you’ll need resources to last, and this is where the exploration and survival aspect of the game begins. You will venture out to forage for basic necessities, such as wood, water, and food. Come nighttime, you will have to be wary of predators and other dangerous animals that might wander too close that you’ll have to fend them off.
If you’re feeling adventurous, you can even explore caves to see what’s inside and possibly find something interesting and useful for your journey. Outside of building out your home and the exploration aspect of it all, there isn’t much to do in the game yet. The developers did hint at future updates to bring in more content, but that is yet to come.
Be one with nature
If you’re looking for a game that you can play during your downtime and help you relax a little, check out Among Trees. This is a great choice more so if you’re into something nature-themed. It’s a peaceful experience that brings the visuals front and center while still giving you a decent amount of things to do, and it will only get better with updates. Highly recommended.
