A-GPS TrackerOm: Offline Maps, Contour Lines and GPX Editing Functions
A-GPS TrackerOm (formerly known as A-GPS Tracker++) is an Android app that allows you to use the tracker without internet by utilizing offline maps. The maps used by the app are free and provided by the OpenStreetMap project, which can be downloaded and stored locally on your device. A-GPS TrackerOm also generates contour lines and provides GPX editing functions for your tracks.
The app generates contour lines by using Digital Elevation Map (DEM) data files provided by NASA. The contour lines are created automatically by keeping a point on the map pressed. The elevation data provided by DEMs is more stable and accurate than the one provided by GPS. You can also edit your GPX tracks by merging two tracks, modifying or deleting a Point of Interest (POI), and adding a new POI to a point on the map or on the track. Lastly, you can save the resulting track to a new GPX file.
A-GPS TrackerOm is a free app in the Lifestyle category with a Sports subcategory, developed by CMG.BAT. The app provides a useful and practical solution for outdoor activities where internet connection may not be available.
