Free abstract 3D game
Afternoon Spaghetti is a pay-what-you-can video game created by indie developer Shelf. This game allows players to have a short adventure inside an artful 3D map. Played in the first-person point of view, it will have you help a rotund creature as he makes spaghetti. The game is short and does not really ask players to do much aside from walking around the game map looking for cheese. However, it is rather entertaining and informative.
Where’s the cheese?
The goal of the game is simple. You only need to help the abstract character in preparing the spaghetti meal. As you enter the house, the rotund creature will ask you to get the cheese from his fridge—and that is where the fun starts. The fridge actually holds more than food. It can lead you to various rooms, well beyond the house. You have to get past the toilet first, though.
What lies beyond the fridge—and the toilet—is an art exhibit. Here, you can see various artworks, such as paintings and sculptures. Like in a real-life exhibit, you can see the artist, as well as the art’s description. You can also roam around the displays and see them one-by-one. It is in this exhibit that you can actually find the cheese that the rotund character asks you to find.
Afternoon Spaghetti uses the player’s keyboard and mouse for controls. To move around, you can use the WASD keys. To look closer to an item, you can use your mouse. The E key, meanwhile, allows you to interact with the items. Note, however, that you cannot interact with most of the items. Besides the simple mechanics, what’s great about the game is its art style. As noted, it features a colorful 3D abstract art-style. From the landscape to the house and the art exhibit, everything in this 3D game is pleasing to the eyes. Even the weird rotund character is rather cute.
Very short
Afternoon Spaghetti is a simple game that is basically a walking simulator. It has very pretty visuals, which makes the exploration very fun. However, the game is very short. Once you find the cheese and gave it to the abstract creature, the game is finished. You can even complete the entire game in minutes.
