A modern take on Kick Off 2
Active Soccer is a beautiful soccer game that borrows from the style and philosophy of the famous simulator Anco. Great graphics and gameplay from the get-go, it supports multi-player mode but lacks the rights to use names of real players.
Compete in the World Cup…and more!
Active Soccer lets you play a friendly match, a championship between countries (a tournament with 8 groups of 4 teams) or just practice (free kicks and penalties). Challenge other players in multi-player mode online.
Play at 3 levels of difficulty and choose the duration of the game (3, 5, 7 or 10 minutes).
Before you take the field, you’re in charge of training and tactics. Then you can manually change the position of the players on the field.
Unfortunately, Active Soccer does not have the rights to use the names of actual players.
Excellent playability
Active Soccer includes a tutorial that explains the game controls and three different sets of commands.
The virtual pad is reactive and responds well, allowing for 360-degree movement, and the two-touch buttons are used to pass or kick the ball or to counter your opponent when you’re on the defense.
Gameplay feels like a cross between Kick Off 2 and Sensible Soccer.
Detailed graphics
The graphics are done well, are smooth and show good attention to detail. They’re reminiscent of the legendary Kick Off 2, yet more modern.
The replays and goals are very television-like, and can be saved and watched later. With great animations and sound effects, you can immerse yourself in the game.
The (unofficial) heir to Kick Off 2
Active Soccer is reminiscent of the fast and immediate style of play in Kick Off 2. The games are fun and exciting and the game atmosphere is noteworthy.
The Developer does not have the rights to use club and player names, but the crux of the game lies in the excellent gameplay and well-designed graphics. An exciting football game, a must-have for soccer lovers.
