Multiplayer survival game for PC

Project Winter is a premium action game for PC by developer Other Ocean Interactive. It is a multiplayer survival built around the concept of social deception. Players of up to 8 participants must communicate and work together in order to survive long enough to get rescued from their dire situation.

Similar to Among Us, not everyone in the group is as they seem in Project Winter. There will be those whose sole purpose is to sabotage all attempts at survival and rescue, and ensure that nobody is left alive, and they will do so by any means necessary.

How is it played?

Project Winter is a multiplayer survival game with social deception as part of its core gameplay mechanic. Just like with any other survival titles involving groups of people, communication and teamwork are essential to ensure everyone’s survival and until help arrives and they get rescued. Not everyone is who they seem to be, though, and this is where it becomes interesting and deadly.

Members of the group are aptly called Survivors, but there are others who have different designations, and they are called Traitors. As you would probably guess by their names, the latter has other things in mind for everyone. Their role is to sabotage and cut off any chance of survival by doing whatever is required, be it sabotage, deception, or get their hands bloody—whatever it takes.

Depending on that role you get assigned, the game becomes a balancing act of good and evil, with your allegiance ever-changing to suit the task you’ve been given. Unfortunately, though, the game has gone on a downward spiral and has seen its player base dwindle rapidly. The fact that it’s filled with toxic and rude players doesn’t help its cause one bit.

Lost to the noise and toxicity

Project Winter is an example of a good game gone bad. What started out as a solid multiplayer experience with unique gameplay and interesting ideas has now become a breeding ground for trolls and toxic players. Unless you have a solid group of trusted friends that you can play it with, it’s a little hard to fully recommend this game.
