Access a note taking app with the slide of your mouse

There are many note taking applications out there but SlidePad has been designed to take advantage of the slickness of Mac OS X.

SlidePad is designed to allow you to jot down your thoughts and ideas without taking your hands off the keyboard or disturbing your workflow. It allows a limited amount of formatting in terms of font style and size and even add images although that’s not really what SlidePad is about. It’s about ease of access, symbolized by the way it pops out as soon as you slide your mouse to the side of the screen (hence the name).

If you don’t want to use the mouse, you can configure hotkeys to bring up the notepad instead. Despite this unobtrusiveness, SlidePad still requires a Dock icon which is rather annoying since it doesn’t need one. There is no simple way to turn this off although there is a work around described in detail on the developer site. They also say that they’re working on eliminating the dock icon for the next release.

SlidePad is a handy note taking tool which is thin on features but big on easy access and simplicity.

This update makes SlidePad ready for Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard and is recommended for all users. SlidePad will continue to run on Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard.
